Meet Your Guide.

Your tour is led by John Belanger — a U.S. military veteran with a special operations background and more than 30 years of experience navigating backcountry terrain across North America, behind the wheel and on foot.

JB is a nationally published outdoor writer and field tester whose work appears in multiple magazines and outdoor publications, John has built a career around getting off the pavement and bringing those stories back.

After years of living in the American West, the Mojave Desert and the canyon country surrounding Mesquite is terrain he knows well - the history, its hidden corners, and the details most visitors never get to see.

What you get isn’t a rehearsed script. It’s real knowledge, genuine passion, and the kind of storytelling that only comes from decades of exploration and adventure living the outdoor life.

Approximately 3 hours. We’ll pick you up at one of our preferred partner locations and take you up onto the mesa to share local history, explore the Joshua tree forest, and return at sunset for a beautiful ride back before dropping you off.

This is a true off‑road experience that requires a level of fitness to not only enter and exit a large expedition vehicle but also to move around safely on unstable terrain. Guests must be responsible for their own safety and have sufficient upper‑body strength to support themselves throughout the tour. The ability to safely get in and out of the off‑road vehicles without assistance is required at all times.

For safety, liability, and pricing reasons, we cannot accommodate pregnant women, children under 6 years old are not permitted, and we cannot accommodate pets of any kind.

We provide drinking water and encourage you to bring a small camera or cell phone.

For the safety and comfort of our guests, meals, alcohol, and bottles are not permitted on the vehicle. However, you are welcome to bring a small, easily contained snack, such as a granola bar, if necessary.
